Spotlight on Yogapeeth Sankirtan Team
Book distribution is the best kīrtana!

With the inspiration and guidance of HG Ananda Vrindavan Devi Dasi, Sankirtan Team is carrying forward Srila Prabhupada’s mission of distributing transcendental literature. Through books like Bhagavad gita As It Is and Srimad Bhagavatam, the team shares Krishna’s timeless wisdom and Srila Prabhupada’s mercy with countless souls. Every book shared is an opportunity to awaken devotion and bring a heart closer to Krishna. Her guidance helps keep this sacred service alive, spreading the light of bhakti throughout our community.

For me Book distribution is an opportunity to be in a space where I feel the presence of Krishna very strongly as it enables me to constantly glorify (talk, pray and hear about ) Krishna and His devotees all the while being in the association of exalted devotees who are sincerely trying to give Krishna to others. Personally it has helped me in my own purification. It’s such an adventure where we meet people from all walks of life. Many a times talking and hearing to them has helped me to sometimes uplift my own consciousness and sometimes humbled me from deep within. Overall it’s a blessing for me to be part of the Sankirtan team as it gives me direct opportunity to serve in Lord Chaitanya’s movement and please Srila Prabhupada and my Gurudev - H.G. Prema Madhuri Devi Dasi

Book distribution is the service closest to my heart because it has transformed how I use my words. Earlier, I would engage in mundane talk, like a frog croaking and attracting a snake; by Krishna’s mercy, I now try to engage my speech in sharing Krishna’s message through His books. I feel blessed to have this opportunity to serve Srila Prabhupada under the guidance of my spiritual master, HH Bhakti Vikas Swami, with inspiration from my śikṣā-guru, HH Gopal Krishna Goswami, and the Vaishnavas. Mahaprabhu’s instruction, “Yāre dekha, tāre kaha ‘Kṛṣṇa’-upadeśa,” inspires me to pray that I may become a humble instrument in Krishna’s mission, as He tells Arjuna, “Nimitta-mātraṁ bhava Savyasācin.” ~ H.G. Syamalal Das

Sankirtan seva means a lot to me because it is the instruction of my Guru Maharaj. I feel very happy and
blessed to serve by spreading Srila Prabhupada’s teachings and distributing his books, helping people come closer to Krishna consciousness and find true happiness. Doing Sankirtan seva gives me an opportunity to share my own personal story with people. When people see so many of Srila Prabhupada’s books, they sometimes feel scared and think, “How will I ever be able to understand all this?” I felt exactly the same way when I first saw these books. I never imagined that one day I would actually read them and follow Krishna consciousness. But today, by Srila Prabhupada’s mercy, I am reading his books, following Krishna consciousness, and my life has completely changed. This gives me so much happiness and inspires me to share these books with others. ~ H.G. Srita Kamala Devi Dasi

To me, Sankirtan seva is an opportunity to serve Srila Prabhupada and Lord Krishna by sharing Krishna consciousness with others. Every week, when I go out for book distribution, I feel that I am carrying Srila Prabhupada’s mercy and teachings to people who may not have otherwise encountered them. Sankirtan is not simply about distributing books. It is about connecting with people, speaking about Krishna, and giving them an opportunity to take one small step toward spiritual life. Even when someone accepts a book with just a little interest, I feel that we have been given the chance to participate in something very meaningful. It reminds me that I am not the doer. I am simply an instrument of Srila Prabhupada’s mercy. - H.G. Sadashiva Das

Doing book distribution every week has changed me in many ways. It has helped me become more humble, patient, and less attached to the results. Sometimes people are very receptive, while other times they may not be interested or may even say no. I have learned to accept both situations and continue serving with a positive heart. This seva has also helped me overcome my own hesitation and fear of approaching people. Every time I step out for Sankirtan, I am reminded that the purpose is not just to distribute a book, but to give Krishna consciousness to someone. Most importantly, Sankirtan has strengthened my connection with Srila Prabhupada and made me appreciate his desire to spread Krishna consciousness throughout the world. I feel very fortunate to have this opportunity to serve every week. Whatever little service I am able to do, I consider it a great mercy, and I pray that I can continue this seva with sincerity, humility, and enthusiasm ~ H.G. Girija Devi Dasi
Every act of Sankirtan carries forward Srila Prabhupada’s divine mission of spreading Krishna consciousness throughout the world.
