My Experience at the Lord Krishna Temple (True story) - Nivedya Manu (4th Grade)

Guruvayur Temple, Kerala (India)

The beautiful, shimmery sun seeped its way into my bedroom. It was really early in the morning when my mom woke me up. She told me we were going to Lord Krishna Temple, Guruvayur. Also, it was my fifth birthday! I was so excited to go. My mom took me to the bathroom and gave me a nice warm shower. After the shower, my mom got me a pretty dress. It was a dazzling golden dress with pretty jewels. After we got ready, my dad said that it was time to go! We hopped onto an auto-rickshaw and drove away to the temple.  

Soon we arrived! I couldn’t wait! My favorite part of the temple were the manjadi seeds. The temple was huge! The temple was made out of different kinds of rock. It looked majestic. There were also some streaks of metal. There were also beautiful ancient sculptures from Sanatana Dharma on the outside of the temple. My dad told me that the temple was here for 5000 years! I was really surprised! We walked in. Every usher was old, and statues. After a while, we sat down. I asked my mom if I could go look at the manjadi seeds. My mom said yes. I ran over to the golden pot of the manjadi seeds. I gently picked up the seeds. Suddenly, while I was playing with the manjadi seeds, I found an eclair. It was my favorite candy, but I only ate three! I ran back and told my parents. They smiled. I went to the pot again. This time, I found another eclair! I once again waddled back to my parents. They laughed and told me to go one more time. Then again, I ran back. I played for a while, until I found another one! I smiled and ran back. My parents smiled and told me that it was time to go home. We went outside, hopped in an auto-rickshaw, and went home. 

As I thought about my day, a warm happiness filled my heart. Finding the Éclair felt like Krishna’s own playful blessing, making my birthday feel even more special. I smiled, feeling grateful for His love. With His blessings in my heart, I slowly drifted into sleep, dreaming of the magical day He gave me.
